TYR GMPro Mix-In is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. TYR GMPro Mix-In is an unflavoured, nutritionally incomplete, low phenylalanine* and low tyrosine*, powdered protein source containing glycomacropeptide (GMP), with essential and non-essential amino acids, a small amount of carbohydrate and some minerals. TYR GMPro Mix-In is available in 30 x 12.5g sachets. *TYR GMPro Mix-In contains 18.0mg of phenylalanine and 3.5mg of tyrosine per 12.5g sachet. This should be taken into consideration as part of the patient’s overall dietary intake. Protein substitutes based on GMP are a natural source of phenylalanine and tyrosine.

How to Use :

The quantity of feed and dilution should be determined by a clinician or dietitian only, and is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient. The recommended feed concentration is 12.5g powder (1 sachet) made up with 180-240 ml of water or flavoured drink. A lower concentration may be required according to individual tastes and tolerance. Water or additional fluid should be offered at the same time to ensure adequate fluid intake. The health of the patient depends on carefully following the directions for preparation and use. 1. Wash your hands, clean all utensils. 2. Measure the required amount of cold water into a container with a screw top lid. 3. Add the prescribed quantity of powder. 4. Seal and shake well until the powder has dissolved. TYR GMPro Mix-In is best served chilled and should be consumed immediately. This product may also be added to other prescribed protein substitutes for tyrosinaemia or semi-solid foods. Do not heat, bake, or add to hot food or drinks (above 55°C).

Storage :

Store in a cool, dry place. Once opened, use immediately. Packaged in a protective atmosphere.

Precautions :

Must be used under medical supervision. Only intended for use by individuals with proven tyrosinaemia (TYR). This product should not be used as a sole source of protein but must be given in conjunction with natural protein and other nutrients to supply the phenylalanine, tyrosine, fluid and general nutrition requirements of the patient in medically prescribed quantities. Diet must be supplemented with a suitable vitamin, mineral and trace element source to meet daily requirements. Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. ii. Must be taken with a comprehensive vitamin, mineral and trace mineral supplement. iii. GMP contains a source of phenylalanine and tyrosine this should be taken into consideration when using these products. iv. Not suitable for cows’ milk intolerance. v. Not suitable for children under the age of 3 years.
