Scandishake Mix is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. Scandishake Mix is a high energy nutritional supplement based on skimmed milk powder, carbohydrate and fat, for the dietary management of disease related malnutrition, malabsorption states or other conditions requiring fortification with a fat/carbohydrate supplement, e.g. cystic fibrosis. Scandishake Mix can be used to supplement the diet of patients unable to meet their nutritional requirements from regular dietary intake. Scandishake Mix can be made up with whole milk or added to foods as a fortifier.

How to Use :

1. Wash your hands, use clean or sterilised utensils. 2. Pour 240ml (8 fl.oz) of fresh whole milk into a measuring jug or shaker and empty the contents of one sachet (85g powder) into the milk. 3. Mix briskly with a fork or shake until smooth. Or: 1. Pour 60ml (2 fl.oz.) of fresh whole milk into a glass or cup. 2. Add the contents of one sachet (85g powder). 3. Mix briskly with a fork/whisk into a smooth paste. 4. Gradually add the remaining milk and continue to stir well. Prepare the drink per serving and use within 2 hours, or store in a refrigerator for a maximum of 24 hours. Always discard unfinished feeds.

Storage :

Once opened, a sachet of Scandishake Mix should be stored in a cool, dry place and used within 2-3 days. Do not refrigerate. Packaged in a protective atmosphere.

Precautions :

Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Only to be used as a supplement to the normal diet. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia.

Ingredients :

 Vanilla*: Maltodextrin, vegetable oils (soybean oil, palm oil), glucose syrup, sucrose, skimmed cow’s milk, potassium caseinate (from cow’s milk), emulsifier (mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids), flavouring, stabiliser (dipotassium hydrogen phosphate), sodium chloride, magnesium citrate, antioxidant (ascorbyl palmitate). *For all other flavours, see individual packaging.
