Ispagel® Orange contains the active ingredient ispaghula husk in the form of granules which, when dispersed in water, make an orange flavoured drink1,2.

Ispaghula husk is a type of natural fibre that is capable of absorbing upto 40 times its own weight of water and belongs to a group of medicines known as bulk-forming laxatives1,2.

It works by increasing the bulk of the stools, which encourages the bowels to move the stools through the digestive system to help relieve constipation.

In addition, colonic bacteria are believed to feed on the hydrated material. The mass of the bacterial cells increases, which consequently helps soften the stools1.

How to Use :

Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years: One sachet of Ispagel® Orange in the morning and evening or as prescribed by your doctor.

Storage:

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

C. Store in the original package.

• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the

label after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

• Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household

waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no

longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.

Precautions:

Children aged 12 years and under: Ispagel® Orange, should not be used in children aged 12 years and under.

Do not take Ispagel® Orange without water. If you accidentally take too much, drink plenty of water. If there has been no bowel movement after three days of treatment, consult your doctor. Do not take the last dose immediately before going to sleep.

DO NOT TAKE ISPAGEL® ORANGE IF: Your doctor has told you that you have phenylketonuria (PKU), because the product is sweetened with aspartame E951, which contains a source of phenylalanine. This may be harmful for people with phenylketonuria (PKU).

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Ispagel® Orange can be used during pregnancy and whilst breast feeding.
