Calogen Extra Shots is a Food for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. Calogen Extra Shots is a high energy (4kcal/ml) fat emulsion. With sugars and sweeteners. Calogen Extra Shots can be used to supplement or fortify the diet of patients who are unable to meet their energy and/or vitamin and mineral requirements from regular dietary intake. Calogen Extra Shots can be used as an energy enhancer in tube feeds and oral nutritional supplements.

How to Use :

Shake well before opening. Calogen Extra Shots is ready to drink and is best served chilled. Dosage should be determined by a clinician or dietitian and is dependent on the age, body weight and medical condition of the patient. Recommended daily dose is 3x40ml shots, unless specified by a clinician or dietitian. Can be taken undiluted or diluted with milk or water. It can also be mixed into foods. May require dilution for children under 5 years of age.

Storage :

Store in a cool, dry place (5-25°C) and away from direct sunlight. Once opened, consume 40ml shot directly and discard any unfinished feed. Calogen Extra Shots is not suitable for freezing.

Precautions :

Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition. Only to be used as a supplement to the normal diet. Use with caution in children aged 3-6 years. Must be used under strict medical supervision. Not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Not suitable for patients with galactosaemia.
